Celebrity Health Tips You Can Use
If you’ve been looking to lose weight, but aren’t sure whose advice to follow, the answer is very simple: celebrities. Who other than a celeb would have the best diet plans? After all, their entire career depends on how they look just as much as how they act. So listen to what the following eight celebs have to say about staying thin, and what you should and shouldn’t eat.
To get ready for her role in The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep quit drinking wine after one glass. That’s what she had to do to fit into Prada, she says.
It’s a well-known fact among Alicia Silverstone fans that she eats a strict plant-based diet. “The most important thing is to make the connection between wellness and food, and that’s what I think is lacking the most in our culture. If you had to pick one thing, move away from the foods that are harmful, the meat, the dairy, the sugar, the processed foods. Just gently move away from those and be adding in grains,” Alicia says.
You’d never know it, but most of Jessica Alba’s family is overweight. So how does she stay so beautifully thin? “I alter my diet by eating lean protein, like chicken or fish, and lots of fruits and veggies. During the day I’ll have some dried fruit, or a chocolate or strawberry frozen yogurt, but I try to steer clear of desserts and bread,” she said.
“I like the green juice because I don’t like vegetables. I mean, I do…I like broccoli with cheese, and carrots with ranch dressing! It’s just how I eat. I’m not trying to pretend that I’m something I’m not. With the juice, I feel like I’m getting straight-up vitamins and good food. So if I don’t eat anything else green that day, I’ve got my green in,” says the country-singing star.
In case you didn’t read her book Naturally Thin, Bethenny Frankel explains how portion control is the key to staying thin. “Portion control isn’t about measuring; it’s about ordering two appetizers instead of an entrée and cutting back on bread if you have pasta,” Bethenny writes.
Want to know the beautiful and very talented Carrie Underwood’s secret to staying in great shape? Here it is. “I’m vegan and I love bread, but recently, I started making dinner a breadless meal. I’ll have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, and I’ll make a sandwich on Ezekiel bread for lunch, but in the evening I’ll have protein and vegetables and no bread. When I wake up, my belly is flat!” Carrie says.
Here’s Jennifer Garner’s diet advice on how to stay balanced that she swears by: “Get rid of bagels and croissants. No more waffles. Salads with protein became a part of my life again. I knew I was gonna still have a little chocolate every single day. The point is, you can’t go overboard.”
What does J.Lo know about food? This. “I eat meat, I eat carbs, I even eat McDonald’s. What I don’t do is ever overeat. I don’t eat desserts and I can limit the chocolate chip cookies to one or two.”
